Ensuring Email Has A Viable Future In ChinaXZList’s Danny Levinson was invited to Shenyang to provide a seminar on best practices for dealing with email, spam, email marketing, and phishing in China.

At the “Email Services Management Training”, held by the Internet Society of China, BDL Media’s XZlist service and eight other leading email service providers and anti-spam experts were invited to provide information to administrators from China Telecom, China Mobile, China Netcom, Sohu.com, Tom.com and other service providers in China about ways to best fight against unwanted commercial email and hackers.

Levinson gave an hour-long presentation entitled “Keeping Email Sane” where he outlined best practices used by global anti-spam organization Spamhaus to thwart the problems of Spam. Levinson is also a representative for Spamhaus in China.

The event was held at the Jinjiang Hotel in Shenyang from July 10-12. The event was open to the top administrators from China’s leading email service providers.

The Internet Society of China was started on May 25, 2001. ISC was sponsored by more than 70 companies, which include network access carriers, ISPs, facility manufacturers and research institutes. The current chairperson is Madam Hu Qiheng, the vice-president of China Association for Science and Technology and an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

ISC has 200 members including 177 organizational members and 23 personal members. Organizational members are legal companies, research institutes, academic associations, universities and other organizations that are engaged in various activities related with Internet services and who agree with the by-laws of ISC and are willing to be a member of ISC. Personal members are individuals well-known in China Internet community.
