Email list management, email publishing, and email marketing were topics discussed this past week in a speech given by Danny Levinson, BDL Media’s Managing Partner, at MarketingSherpa’s Email Summit 2006.

BDL Media runs one of China’s largest email list management services at XZList.com. XZList handles the secure management of the email lists for multinationals and domestic companies operating in China.

MarketingSherpa’s Email Summit 2006 was held at the Hyatt O’hare in Chicago on April 20-21 with a sell-out crowd of 500 ticketed attendees, 21 Case Study presentations, and 16 exhibitors.

With the new Chinese anti-spam law going into effect last month, Danny Levinson answered questions from the audience about Chinese best practices, deliverability, bonded sender programs, and the general Internet environment in China. He also displayed email campaigns done by Xianzai.com and XZList, both subsidiaries of BDL Media.

Levinson stressed the importance of good HTML formatting in emails in order to allow the best rendering in different email clients. He also revealed that with over 95% penetration of Internet Explorer in China, landing pages only really need to be tweaked for that particular browser.

Levinson says he has was pleased to be invited to present the state of email marketing and email list management in China and looks forward to going back next year.
